Continuous 3 On 3 Rules:
12 Minute Games, Half Court Area, 1 Referee, 1 Scorekeeper
3 On 3. In the event a team only has 2 players fit to play 2 On 2 will be played.
Start The Game: One player from each team 'roshambo' for first possession. Check ball at point spot and game begins.
Clearing: The ball must be cleared to the 3 Point Line Perimeter on any change of possession (steals, defensive rebounds, blocks, etc). Offensive rebounds do not need to be cleared. Teams clearing the ball are permitted space inside the paint area only. Once the ball leaves the paint area to be cleared to the three point the ball is live and can be stolen. Sideline and baseline out of bounds re-starts do not need to be cleared.
Points: Field Goals are 1, Three Pointers 2 and Free Throws 1. Shooting Fouls are 1 Free Throw. Free Throw Penalty is 1 Shot on and after the 7 foul.
5 Second Closely Guarded Rule starts once the ball is cleared and player is being closely guarded.
Shot Clock: Teams have 15 seconds to shoot. Refs will warn players at 5 seconds that a shot has to be taken.
3 Second Paint rule is enforced.
Overtime: The team who started on defense gets the ball first. First to score one point or more wins.
Violation and Out of Bounds Restarts are taken out of bounds closest to where violation or ball went out. The ref does not need to touch ball to restart. Ref does enforce 5 Seconds by counting out loud once players is in passing position. The ball does not need to be cleared on out of bounds and violations.
Shooting Fouls are 1 free throws. On and after the 7th foul 1 free throw will be shot.
Non-shooting fouls are check ball at point spot.
Substitutes can be made during out of bounds or check balls
Time delays: A warning will be given and a 1 free throw will be shot in the event of a second Time Delay. Offensive teams scoring may not touch the ball. Teams will be warned and then be penalized with a Delay of Game..
Time: Games are 12 minute running clock
There is no in game coaching permitted. Managers make the subs and get players ready for the next game. Cheering is to be limited. With a 15 second time clock, 5 second closely guarded rule and immediate transition from offensive to defensive and vice versa there is no time coach or celebrate
